Aventura is a UAE-based travel agency focused on delivering exceptional travel experiences and high-quality services to individual, corporate, and hospitality clients.
We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Accounting Manager to join our Egypt-based team and provide comprehensive accounting and financial support to Aventura’s UAE operations.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day accounting function, maintain accurate financial records, oversee receivables and payables, monitor cash flow, support financial reporting, and ensure effective financial controls across the business.
 
Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for Aventura’s UAE business.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
  • Oversee general ledger, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial performance.
  • Ensure proper allocation and recording of revenues and costs by business line, client, supplier, and transaction where applicable.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and supporting records.
2. Accounts Receivable & Revenue Control
  • Monitor customer accounts and outstanding receivables.
  • Follow up on overdue payments and coordinate with the Sales and Operations teams regarding collection.
  • Ensure invoices are issued accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor deposits, advance payments, refunds, credit notes, and adjustments.
  • Maintain proper controls over travel bookings and related financial transactions.
3. Accounts Payable & Supplier Management
  • Manage supplier invoices and payment processes.
  • Verify invoices against approved bookings, contracts, quotations, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate supplier statements and conduct regular reconciliations.
  • Monitor supplier payment schedules and outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Procurement to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure payments are properly authorized and supported by the required documentation.
4. Travel Industry Accounting
  • Maintain accurate financial records relating to travel bookings, hotels, flights, transportation, excursions, tours, and other travel-related services.
  • Reconcile booking-related collections and supplier payments.
  • Monitor commissions, mark-ups, service fees, and other sources of travel-related revenue.
  • Review profitability of bookings and packages where required.
  • Work closely with the Operations and Sales teams to ensure financial transactions are accurately captured.
  • Monitor cancellations, amendments, refunds, and associated financial adjustments.
5. UAE Financial & Tax Compliance
  • Support the company in maintaining compliance with applicable UAE accounting, taxation, and financial requirements.
  • Assist with VAT accounting, reconciliations, documentation, and periodic VAT return preparation in coordination with the company’s UAE tax advisors/accountants.
  • Maintain proper records required for audits, tax reviews, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure financial transactions are supported by appropriate documentation and approval.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other financial service providers when required.
6. Cash Flow & Banking
  • Monitor company cash flow and upcoming financial obligations.
  • Prepare cash-flow reports and payment forecasts.
  • Monitor bank accounts and perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate payment requests and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Assist management with cash-flow planning and working-capital management.
  • Identify potential cash-flow risks and communicate them to management in a timely manner.
7. Financial Reporting & Management Support
  • Prepare regular financial reports for management.
  • Provide analysis of revenue, costs, margins, receivables, payables, and cash flow.
  • Assist management in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track actual performance against budgets and highlight significant variances.
  • Provide financial information and analysis to support business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards and KPIs where required.
8. Internal Controls
  • Establish and maintain effective accounting procedures and financial controls.
  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and approval processes.
  • Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
  • Identify financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, or unusual transactions and escalate them appropriately.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
9. Team & Cross-Department Coordination
  • Work closely with the UAE management, Sales, Operations, and other departments.
  • Coordinate effectively between the UAE business and the Egypt-based support team.
  • Provide financial guidance to non-finance departments where required.
  • Support the development and implementation of efficient accounting procedures.
  • Supervise and guide other accounting staff if applicable.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent is an advantage.
Experience
  • 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including experience in an Accounting Manager position.
  • Previous experience working with a UAE-based company is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the travel, tourism, hospitality, or service industry is an advantage.
  • Strong experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash-flow management.
  • Practical knowledge of UAE VAT and accounting practices.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of VAT and financial controls.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.

Working Relationship
The Accounting Manager will be based remotely at Aventura’s Egypt office while providing accounting and financial support to the company’s UAE operations.
The position will require regular communication and coordination with:

The role may occasionally require coordination outside standard Egypt working hours to align with UAE business operations.

Performance in this role will be measured through:
